Cardi's suit claims that when the artist "questioned whether it was proper for her to receive only 50 percent", Shaft "deceitfully told her that this was an absolutely standard percentage for a recording artist to receive". The Invasion of Privacy rapper is suing her ex-manager for over $15 million citing that he was overbearing in regards to her career and personal life, specifically with her dating Offset.
The counterclaim, filed by Almanzar, (minus Foster, Quality Control Management, Lee and Thomas), denies nearly all but the basic allegations, acknowledging that Foster is indeed her publicist, for example, or that she did indeed sign a management contract and recording contract with Raphael and his company WorldStar.
"The so-called "Recording Agreement" between [Cardi B] and KSR further increased the percentage of commissions on all of Ms. Almanzar's entertainment-related activities to an additional 25% (from the management agreement's previous 20%). Unlike most loans, this loan was not formalized with any note, carried no interest, required no collateral and provided no realistic means of repayment".Читайте также: Apple's Taiwanese flag ban leads to iPhone crashes
"As Cardi B's star rose, 'so too did Shaft's greed, '" says the suit.
Cardi B, who filed a countersuit on Thursday, is looking to have management and recording agreements declared void. "While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint", according to court documents. Cardi B announced in March that she was joining with Quality Control.
