Daniels, 39, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, says she had sex with Mr. Trump in 2006. In May, Trump said Daniels was paid to stop "false and extortionist accusations" she made about a sexual encounter with him. "We will fight all bogus charges", Avenatti tweeted.
According to an article published past year in The Columbus Dispatch, the law, which also restricts the hours of operation for strip clubs and adult book stores, is rarely, if ever, enforced. Daniels was arrested by several Columbus police officers after she also allegedly fondled the breasts of female patrons and held the face of a female officer into her chest, WBNS-TV first reported.
Documents posted on the Franklin County Municipal Court website show Ms Daniels has posted $6,054 (£4,586) in bail, and is scheduled for an arraignment on Friday.
Daniels was one of three people arrested at the club, but it's unclear who the other two were.
But according to an arrest report cited by Columbus news station WBNS, police accuse Daniels of touching "a specified anatomical area" of individuals present at the performance, including police officers.

She is suing Trump and his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, to void a hush agreement she says she signed during the 2016 presidential campaign.
She is trying to free herself from a non-disclosure agreement signed before the election, and suing over a "defamatory" tweet by the USA president earlier this year.
Avenatti alleges the payment was a violation of campaign finance law and was created to suppress speech.
However, Trump - who initially denied knowledge of the payment - subsequently conceded that Cohen was in fact reimbursed.
