Kim Hancock was walking with a group of people along a boardwalk when the bison approached them in Lower Geyser Basin, according to park officials.
The bull bison "became agitated and charged the crowd before immediately leaving the area". A paramedic ambulance transported her to the Big Sky Medical Center in Big Sky, Montana, in good condition.

The park service suggested visitors stay at least 100 yards away from bears and wolves and at least 25 yards away from other animals, including bison and elk.
According to the National Parks Service, bison have lived in Yellowstone since prehistoric times, but went almost extinct in the US after excessive hunting in the 1800s. In May, a woman stumbled across a bison as she came around a bend in a trail, according to CBS affiliate KTVQ.
Yellowstone officials have renewed their urging for people to maintain a safe distance from wild animals in the park. Past year there were five bison attacks in the park.
It was the third animal attack this week for the park. "Give animals space", the park said.
