When Courtney Hadwin took the stage on Tuesday's "America's Got Talent", the judges didn't know what to make of the likeable yet incredibly shy young woman who stood before them. When she first hit the stage, the timid 13-year-old told the judges she was "a little bit nervous".
Before pressing the button, Howie raved about how Courtney's skills are "out of this era" before calling her the next Janis Joplin. I was a great feel-good moment for everyone, especially Courtney, who now goes straight to the live shows.America's Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
In the audition, Courtney initially comes on stage and awkwardly answers judge Mel B's questions.
"Bloody hell, Courtney!" exclaims Simon Cowell, once the 13-year-old has finished, describing her as a "lion" when she sings.
From the first moment Hadwin began to sing, judge Simon Cowell was absolutely floored, and he had nothing but praise for the awesome songstress after her performance.

Before she sang, Hadwin's father explained that his daughter was so shy and reclusive she had a hard time talking with people or making friends, and communicated best through her singing.

In 2018, she was a finalist on The Voice Kids UK, airing on ITV in the United Kingtom. She later tweeted saying it was "more than I ever could have dreamed of".
