Each is charged with first-degree murder and improper disposal of human skeletal remains. The Nebraska Commission on Public Advocacy, which is representing Boswell, declined to comment Tuesday. Police initially called her disappearance "concerning".
If convicted, both Trail and Boswell could potentially face the death penalty, with prosecutors stating that it is now being considered.
Trail has previously said he did kill her, but claims it was during a sexual fantasy gone wrong. She didn't come home either, so her mother reported her missing to the Lincoln Police Department. Loofe met her date, a woman named Bailey Boswell, on Tinder - a popular dating app - and soon Boswell would be picking up Loofe at home, according to a criminal complaint. About 140 messages were sent between the two women from November 11 to November 15. After a November 14 date, they agreed to go out the next night.
A Nebraska couple bought the tools that police believe they used to dismember their Tinder date hours before they allegedly strangled her to death with an extension cord. The pair lived together in Wilber, Neb.
Trail said his girlfriend, Boswell, was high on drugs and in another room when Loofe died.
Partial remains of Loofe were found in Clay County, December 4.
Loofe, a native of Neligh, Nebraska, died of strangulation, according to an autopsy.
He told the Omaha World-Herald: 'It wasn't supposed to go to the extreme it went, of course not. "She took to Tinder to look for that person and unfortunately, found someone that had nothing but evil plans for her".
Judge Bauer set the next hearings for both Trail and Boswell for June 19, when both will tell the court whether they want a preliminary hearing on the felony charges.
They left the state, apparently traveling to a casino in Council Bluffs before heading to Branson, Missouri, where they were arrested.

Trail has previous convictions for theft and writing worthless checks in Kansas. Trail was well known to local antique dealers, who were wary of his activities.
Trail and Boswell recently pleaded guilty to those federal charges and are awaiting sentencing. Trail told the World-Herald that he would welcome it.

Boswell and Trial have been held without bail.
Loofe was described by those who knew her as a caring friend who went out of her way to help those in need. While in school, she played basketball, volleyball and golf.
Sydney Loofe, of Lincoln, was still alive when the couple were caught on store surveillance video buying the tools, prosecutors allege in newly unsealed court documents.
