"The indices our fire team uses to predict fire danger are at historic levels well before we can expect any significant moisture from the seasonal monsoons", SJNF Forest Fire Staff Officer, Richard Bustamante said.
No one has been hurt and no structures have burned down.
Though thunderstorms in the next few days could bring much-needed moisture to the area, officials are anxious the storm could bring lightning and gusty winds that lead to unpredictable fire behavior.
