Williams last coached in 2016, when he was an assistant during Billy Donovan's inaugural season with the Thunder. He served as head coach for New Orleans from 2010-2015, compiling a 173-221 record over five seasons, with the previous year ending in a loss to the Golden State Warriors in the first-round of the playoffs. It's Williams's first official coaching position since he took indefinite leave from the Thunder in February 2016 following the death of his wife, Ingrid, in an Oklahoma City auto crash.
