The Blast just spoke with Tip minutes after he was released from custody in Georgia, and he says the entire argument was with a security guard outside of his gated community while returning from the studio and started because the dude was allegedly asleep in the guard shack.
"Tip was wrongfully arrested early this morning when he attempted to gain entrance into his gated community - where his wife Tiny' and his family reside". Both then argued with the guard, and when police arrived, they arrested both men. In 2009, he was sentenced to one year and one day in prison and ordered to pay $100,300 for federal weapons charges after his sentence was reduced via plea bargain from 10 years and a $250,000 fine. It took Tip some time to wake up the sleeping guard. He says the rapper identified himself and sought entry, but the guard refused. He says he demanded the guard's name, but the guy refused. Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or supervisor called the police.
Those sources also confirmed to TMZ that T.I. did not make physical contact.
