Regina will face the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champion Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Sunday for the Canadian major junior title.
"We bought our tickets last Sunday with the feeling that the Pats would be in it", said Darlene Bissett, who has been a Pats fan for about 30 years.
Regina will try to duplicate what the Windsor Spitfires did a year ago and become the second straight tournament host to capture the Memorial Cup.
Adam Holwell scored late in the first period for the New Brunswick team. Fitzpatrick, like Paddock, was at his worst in the two teams' round-robin matchup when he allowed four third-period goals.
Crossman had two glorious chances nine minutes into the second, but Paddock stopped him on both - a partial breakaway and a glove save off a nice wrist shot.
"Definitely I think my best game of my life I've ever played.especially on the stage I was at".
Max Paddock turned away 41-of-43 shots for Regina, which was vying for its fifth Memorial Cup in franchise history.
"(Fulcher) tried to make a play on the puck", Gruden said.
"It's been unbelievable, since the day I was drafted it's been great to be a part of the city and I couldn't ask for anything more", Steel said.Читайте также: Federation Internationale de Football Association calls 2026 World Cup candidates for meeting in Zurich
Another Pat who could find himself onto an National Hockey League roster is Josh Mahura, who is also a Ducks prospect.
"The feeling you have just being there is absolutely insane", Tuttosi said.
The last time the Pats reached the final was in 1974.
After the game, head coach John Paddock simply told them they have nothing to hang their heads about when it came to their performance in the tournament. "Us not winning doesn't define our group", John said. "For guys that were here only four months like Aaron Hyman, he was really shook up because they invested a lot in each other and when you invest a lot, it hurts a lot".
The team, which was making its second appearance at the Memorial Cup and first since their first year in Bathurst, has consistently ranked amongst the lowest in league attendance.
"You got nothing to shake your head about". Acadie-Bathurst captain Jeffrey Truchon-Viel made a nice move on Regina defenceman Cale Fleury in order to make the pass to Asselin for the insurance goal at 13:02 of the third.
But that didn't totally spoil their fun.
"To go home with a Memorial Cup, I can't wait to see that", defenseman Noah Dobson said.
