Rachael DelTondo, 32, was standing on her mother's Buchanan Street driveway, in Aliquippa, Beaver County, on Sunday when she was killed in a hail of gunfire. Dan Casper, a family neighbor, told CBS News: "I don't know why that happened".
DelTondo, who was 32 at the time of her death, was shot after telling her family that she was out with a friend, according to WPXI.
Rachael DelTondo, 32, was returning from an ice cream shop Sunday night when she was struck by a hail of bullets on the driveway outside her family's Aliquippa home, KDKA reported.
Police noted that 'the windows were steamed over and the engine was not running'.
A neighbor said that they had no idea what happened, adding that Rachael was a friendly woman who spoke to everyone. School officials only found out about the incident in October 2017, and later learned that the teenager was never a student at PA Cyber.
The report said DelTondo "didn't want her fiance to know" she was with the boy, claiming he was a friend. Police drove the teen home and no charges were filed.
Brian Hayden, CEO of Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, said that because he is a mandatory reporter, he had to notify Pennsylvania Childline when he received the email, even though it was about an incident that had happened almost two years earlier.
School officials and members of the media received an anonymous email in October containing a 2016 police report which implied she had had an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old boy.

Major Disruption To Rail Services In Dublin
Irish Rail said: "These arrangements are likely to continue throughout the morning peak". There are no Dart services operating between Malahide/Howth and Harmonstown.
The email included the police report and a note that DelTondo and the teen had a "relationship" over text messages and Snapchat messages. Childline is part of a mandated statewide child protective services program, which transmits information to appropriate investigative agencies.
"We have an active group with the Pennsylvania State Police, the Beaver County Detective Bureau and the Aliquippa Police Department working very hard together", Lozier said.
When she exited the vehicle, an assailant reportedly fired several shots into DelTondo's torso.
Brian Hayden, chief executive officer of the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, released a statement after learning of her death. He wrote: "We were saddened this morning to learn of the tragic death of Rachel DelTondo, apparently the result of a violent incident in the City of Aliquippa". However, the check never came in the mail, so the family reached out to their local KDKA-TV reporter, Marty Griffin's segment, "Get Marty". "We express our sympathy to her family and coworkers and will support them in any way possible in the weeks and months ahead as they mourn her passing".
Earlier a year ago, DelTondo was in the press over a dispute with a bridal shop over her wedding dress.
DelTondo had been teaching at Pennsylvania Cyber for almost 10 years. The report concluded that "Deltondo was advised that there was better places to just talk with a former student", and further stated that the responding officer hoped not to find her in the same predicament again.
When the designer did not appear in court, a judge ruled that he should pay the DelTondos over $4,600.
