Britain's foreign secretary says that two British tourists being held hostage in Congo have been released two days after being kidnapped.
"The suspension of tourism is being undertaken as an additional precautionary measure whilst an investigation is undertaken surrounding the recent events", authorities said in a statement.
The management of DR Congo's Virunga Park announced on Tuesday that it has temporarily halted tourist activities after the murder of a guard and the kidnapping of two British holidaymakers.
A 25-year-old park ranger travelling with Ms Davies and Mr Jesty was killed and their driver was also taken captive, a park spokesman said.
United Kingdom news sources have reported that during a visit to the Virunga National Park, the tourists' vehicle was ambushed by gunmen who killed a park ranger and seized the driver.

Located in Congo's North Kivu province, the park is one of the most important conservation sites in the world, covering 7,800 square kilometres (3,011 miles) - three times the size of Luxembourg.
