Police who found Aghdam sleeping in her vehicle early Tuesday in the city of Mountain View about 25 miles (40 kilometers) from YouTube headquarters said she was calm and said nothing about being angry with YouTube or having any plans to harm others or herself.
Nasim Aghdam, the 39-year-old San Diego resident who police said was behind the Tuesday shooting that left three people wounded, reportedly taunted people in the courtyard outside the building, according to a YouTube engineer identified by multiple news outlets as Zach Vorhies.
"I looked down and saw blood drips on the floor and stairs".
Neighbor John Rundell says she painted her parents' house after the family moved in, that the entire family is "very, very friendly" and that her father is an electrical contractor.
A statement from YouTube on Wednesday said the company would increase security at all its offices.
He and his buddy, Daniel Sanford-Salar, would see Aghdam taping her own exercise videos on a patch of grass.
Federal and state investigators also executed search warrants at two homes associated with the family, collecting evidence.
Nasim Aghdam, an Iranian native who was in her late 30s, posted the videos under the online name Nasime Sabz, and a website in that name decried YouTube's policies, saying the company was trying to "suppress" content creators.
"Our family is in absolute shock and can't makes sense of what happened", they said in a statement to Mercury News.

YouTube had no comment about any actions related to Aghdam's videos.
The Jackson Arms Shooting Range has surveillance cameras inside and outside of the facility and is about 3 miles (5 kilometers) from YouTube's headquarters.
Aghdam's father reported his daughter missing Monday and her name was entered into a national missing person's database.
Still, she seemed to be a conflicted woman living in two worlds, the Iran of her childhood where she would attract numerous social media followers, and the United States where she became disillusioned over what she perceived as the hypocrisy of American ideals.

Her father, Ismail Aghdam, brought his family to the United States from Iran in 1996.
Authorities and family members say she was angry about the policies and practices of the company.
After receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire, officers and federal agents swarmed the company's suburban campus sandwiched between two interstates in the San Francisco Bay-area city of San Bruno.
On Tuesday, Aghdam used one full gun magazine then loaded another one before shooting herself.
"She was insane and just wanted to make herself famous", she said. The third victim, a 36-year-old man, was upgraded from critical to serious condition.
